Birds of winter.....

When the winter landscape becomes dull and dreary, I look for some hope of warmer temperatures.  It is a comfort to see new growth or wildlife.  On a neighborhood walk, I saw two Cardinals sweeping through the leafless trees.  Their bright red bodies dramatic in contrast to the brown earth and dormant grass.  They showed no care of the season as they winged their way across the yard.

Interesting, how a touch of color can brighten our lives.  And if the color appears when we least expect it, somehow our day becomes better. "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" P.B. Shelley.

Life is a circle, full of surprises.  Sometimes they occur when we don't expect them and other times they come to us with the hope of a better tomorrow.
